WHAT IS CITYINTERNS?
CityInterns is an intensive two-year leadership and life training program through New City Church and Passion Student Misnistries (youth and college ministry of NCC). The program is for post high school graduates who seek to grow spiritually, develop their leadership skills, and to build a foundation for their unique purpose in life. This foundation will be established primarily through Bible courses, short-term missions, and hands-on internships. Interns will attend daily chapels and classes, as well as work closely New City Church and Passion leaders during special events and conferences.
WHAT IS THE GOAL AND FOCUS OF CI?
Our primarily goal is to provide intensive training for those individuals who have a passionate desire to serve the purposes of God in this generation. Our secondary goal is to develop authentic, Christ-focused, 21st-century leaders. They will learn to ask the question, “What is God’s purpose?” in every area of their life.
Our primary focus is to raise up young men and women into revolutionary Christian leaders and servants in society and in the Kingdom of God.
WHO SHOULD BECOME A PART OF CI?
CI is for all those who have a passionate desire to serve God, commit to Him and fulfill their purpose in Christ, and rescue this generation. CityInterns is not for the mediocre or the apathetic. Interns must first be passionate about building their lives upon the foundation of God’s Word, and then actively pursue their future in God (whether they are called to minister in a secular or church environment).
DISCOVERY—YEAR ONE Associate Degree Program
The first year is about discovery. You will discover a deeper relationship with the Lord, biblical knowledge, and the beginning of your specific purpose.
During the first year of the program, you will lay the foundation of God’s Word in your life and concentrate on building your character. You will gain experience in many church departments through first-hand training in all aspects of their responsibilities. You will assist in organizing many of the New City Church conferences and be a part of our annual international missions trip. At the successful completion of this year, you will graduate with an Associates Degree.
DEEPENING—YEAR TWO Bachelor Degree Program
The second year is about deepening your spiritual growth and ministry abilities. New Bible courses will challenge you personally and spiritually. Your training will increase as you intern in one ministry track that suits your talents and gifting. You will assume leadership responsibility within that track and all conferences and events, including our annual international missions trip. You will deepen your relationship with the Lord, leadership skills, and your abilities to further your specific purpose either in a ministerial or secular environment. At the successful completion of this year, you will graduate with a Bachelors Degree.
DEVOTION—CI “NEXT STEP”
After successful completion of two years, many interns ask the question, “What next?” We believe that CI is just the launching pad for your dynamic purpose in God. Whether it is more education, job placement, or ministry related opportunities, CityInterns is committed to assisting you in that “next step.” As you remain devoted to pursuing the purposes of God, you will begin to see windows of opportunity open.
