Baby dedication

This is a special moment to highlight your family and to make a promise before God to lead your child in the way they should go. (Proverbs 22:6) Whether this occasion is just you and your child, or a family reunion, this special moment shouldn't be kept a secret.

just like in the bible...

“THE PARENTS KEPT BRINGING THEIR LITTLE CHILDREN TO JESUS SO THAT HE WOULD LAY HIS HANDS ON THEM AND BLESS THEM.”

Mark 10:13

Why do we dedicate?

The tradition of child dedication is found in the Bible. The Israelites, on the 8th day of a child’s life, brought their children to the priest for a blessing. Examples like Hannah bringing Samuel to Eli the priest, to dedicate him to the Lord. Even Mary and Joseph brought baby Jesus to the temple for his dedication -- only prove that it is a vital step in parenthood. We find that it was important to God, so it is important for us today.

what does it mean for the parent?

In dedicating their child to the Lord, parents are stating that they are willing to provide a biblical environment in their home. Accomplishing this is a challenge that will take spiritual maturity. It is the duty of the parents, through prayer and the moving of God’s Spirit, to create a desire for the things of God in a child, so that when they grow old, they will not depart from that spiritual training.
